Hope Center Membership Acknowledgement & Commitment

Welcome Home

Membership at Hope Center is an intentional decision to make Hope Center your church home and actively participate in the spiritual life of this community. It represents more than attending a service. It is an invitation to belong, grow, serve, give, and walk in community as we follow Jesus together.

Membership is voluntary and is not about joining an exclusive group. We recognize that every believer ultimately belongs to Jesus Christ and that Hope Center is one local expression of His Church. Our desire is to cultivate a healthy biblical community where people can encounter God, grow as disciples, build meaningful relationships, and use their lives and gifts for His glory.

By completing the Hope Center membership journey, you are saying, “This is my church home, and I desire to grow and participate in the life and mission of this house.”

Our Mission

Hope Center exists to restore hope through the Gospel and restore community through relationships.

We desire to be a church where people encounter the presence of God, are transformed by His Word, experience genuine community, and are equipped to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our Core Values

Prayer is our heartbeat.
We believe prayer is foundational to everything we do. We seek God first and depend upon His presence, wisdom, and power.

Love is our message.
We seek to demonstrate the love of Christ in how we serve, lead, communicate, and care for people.

Excellence is our pursuit.
We desire to honor God by faithfully stewarding what He has entrusted to us and giving our best in service to Him and others.

Discipleship is our commission.
We are committed to becoming disciples of Jesus who continually grow in Christ and help make other disciples.

Generosity is our privilege.
We joyfully steward our time, gifts, resources, and finances for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Engagement is our connection.
We believe spiritual community requires participation. We choose to be present, connected, and known.

Our Commitment to You

As your church family, Hope Center endeavors to:

  • Teach and uphold the Word of God faithfully and responsibly.

  • Keep prayer at the center of the life and ministry of our church.

  • Create opportunities for spiritual growth, discipleship, community, and service.

  • Provide pastoral care, prayer, encouragement, and biblical guidance.

  • Cultivate an environment marked by love, honor, humility, accountability, and belonging.

  • Steward the resources and responsibilities entrusted to this ministry with integrity.

  • Equip you to discover and use your God-given gifts to serve others and advance the Kingdom of God.

  • Walk alongside you through the joys, challenges, transitions, and seasons of life as we are able to do so in biblical community.

Membership is reciprocal. As we invite you to participate in the life of Hope Center, we also accept the responsibility of endeavoring to shepherd, serve, equip, and care for the people God has entrusted to this house.

What Active Membership Looks Like

At Hope Center, active membership is not about perfection. It is about participation, spiritual pursuit, and connection.

We understand that work, health, family responsibilities, travel, caregiving, and different seasons of life can affect a person’s capacity. These standards are intended to provide a clear picture of healthy and active participation in the Hope Center family.

1. Gather Consistently

Active members make gathering with their church family a priority.

Our standard is regular participation in Sunday worship, generally attending at least two Sunday services per month, with weekly attendance encouraged.

Why it matters: Scripture calls believers to gather together. Consistent presence keeps us connected to God’s Word, corporate worship, the vision of the house, and one another.

Scripture: Hebrews 10:24–25

2. Complete the Membership Journey

Before becoming an active member of Hope Center, individuals complete the following:

☐ Hope Center Starting Point Session
☐ Hope Center Discipleship Course
☐ Membership Acknowledgement & Commitment
☐ Baptism, or a willingness to pursue baptism as a believer

Upon completion of the membership journey, members receive a Discipleship Completion Certificate and Hope Center Membership Card and are welcomed into membership at Hope Center.

3. Participate in Community

Active members pursue meaningful connection beyond Sunday worship through a Huddle, small group, ministry community, or another recognized Hope Center gathering.

Our desire is for members to participate in at least one expression of church community beyond the Sunday gathering.

Why it matters: We believe Engagement is our Connection. Church is more than being in the same room. Biblical community gives us the opportunity to know others, allow ourselves to be known, encourage one another, and grow together.

Scripture: Acts 2:42–47

4. Pursue Spiritual Growth

Active members demonstrate an ongoing desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus through:

  • Prayer

  • Study of Scripture

  • Worship

  • Discipleship

  • Obedience to God’s Word

Spiritual growth is not about reaching a standard of perfection. It is about maintaining a posture of pursuit and allowing the Holy Spirit to continually form us into the likeness of Christ.

Why it matters: Following Jesus is an ongoing journey of transformation. We desire to be a church filled with people who are continually becoming more like Him. This is true discipleship.

Scripture: Colossians 2:6–7

5. Contribute to the Mission

Every member has gifts, abilities, experiences, and resources that can contribute to the body of Christ.

Active members are encouraged to serve at least once per month through Hope Force or actively contribute through another recognized ministry function as their capacity allows.

Why it matters: We do not simply attend church. God has given each of us something that can be used to serve others, strengthen His Church, and advance His Kingdom.

Scripture: 1 Peter 4:10

6. Practice Biblical Generosity

Active members are encouraged to honor God through consistent, biblical generosity, including the practice of tithing and giving as God provides.

Why it matters: We believe Generosity is our Privilege. Giving is an act of worship, stewardship, and trust in God. As disciples of Jesus, we desire to faithfully steward what God has placed in our hands and participate in the work of His Kingdom.

Scripture: Proverbs 3:9–10; 2 Corinthians 9:6–8

7. Protect the Unity of the House

As members of one body, we seek to:

  • Uphold the biblical values and mission of Hope Center.

  • Walk in love and honor toward one another.

  • Refuse gossip, unnecessary division, and divisive behavior.

  • Receive biblical instruction and accountability with humility.

  • Pursue biblical reconciliation when conflict arises.

  • Extend grace and forgiveness as we grow together.

  • Walk in honor toward church leadership and fellow members.

Why it matters: Unity does not mean uniformity or the absence of disagreement. It means that even when differences or conflict arise, we choose to handle them in a way that honors Christ and protects the health of His body.

Scripture: Ephesians 4:1–3

A Voluntary Commitment

Membership at Hope Center is voluntary. This acknowledgement expresses a shared understanding of what it means to participate as an active member of our church family.

It is not an employment agreement or a contractual surrender of personal decision-making. Membership does not give Hope Center or its leaders unrestricted authority over a member’s personal life.

We recognize that every believer ultimately belongs to Jesus Christ. Our pastors and leaders are called to teach, shepherd, equip, encourage, and provide biblical guidance to those entrusted to their care, while Jesus Christ remains the Head of His Church.

While our desire is for all to call this place home, we understand that members may choose to end their membership or make another church their spiritual home.

Our desire is not to control people, but to cultivate a healthy biblical community where we can know one another, care for one another, grow together, pursue reconciliation when necessary, and faithfully follow Jesus.

Membership Acknowledgement & Commitment

By signing the Acknowledgement & Commitment form, I acknowledge that I have completed Hope Center’s membership process and have been introduced to the mission, core values, beliefs, culture, and expectations of active membership at Hope Center.

I understand that membership is an invitation into greater connection, care, participation, spiritual growth, and responsibility within the Hope Center family.

I voluntarily choose to identify Hope Center as my church home.

As a member, I desire to pursue Jesus, participate in biblical community, contribute to the mission of the church, practice generosity, protect unity, and continue growing as a disciple of Christ.

I understand that these commitments are not a declaration of perfection, but an expression of my intention to actively participate in the life of this church family as we follow Jesus together.

Welcome to the Hope Center Family

We are grateful that you have chosen to make Hope Center your church home.

Our prayer is that you would not simply attend Hope Center, but that you would belong, be known, grow, serve, and become everything God has called you to be as we pursue Jesus together.

Welcome home.
